The Department of Drama and Theatre is one of the leading Drama Departments in the country, with 25 academic members of staff and an active research culture and postgraduate community. We have multiple close connections with the theatre industry and local communities and we demonstrate in all of our work a strong commitment to joining a broad public in the widest possible conversation about the place, value and significance of theatre and performance. Our facilities for theatre, performance and dance are exceptional, including the 300m2 Boilerhouse Theatre and the only permanent authentic Japanese Noh Theatre in the country. The College is investing in Drama and Theatre by building the new state-of-the-art Caryl Churchill Theatre, which opens in May 2013.


Senior Lecturer/Reader in Dance
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated academic to spearhead the expansion of Dance at undergraduate level at Royal Holloway in teaching and research.

The successful candidate will be expected to be educated to PhD level or equivalent, will have experience and a proven ability in high-quality teaching in Higher Education and show a commitment to innovation and flexibility in working with students. You will have built up an international reputation for your research and be able to demonstrate clear future research development, which will include attracting research funding. You will be someone who thrives in a team and in playing a part in the collective leadership and direction of this Department.
